Cynthia Speech Engine

CPbet

March 15, 2003

The Cynthia Phonetic Alphabet (CPbet) is an encoding of IPA symbols into ASCII that was designed to be used by the Cynthia Speech Engine. CPbet does not include all of the IPA symbols, but I needed an encoding alphabet that contrasts between more consonants than Arpabet or SAMPA for English. I am currently using the Arpabet vowel set. It is the set of consonants that I was most interested in when I wrote this.
